Judith A. Davis

Judith A. Davis, 85, of Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away peacefully on the morning of Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Cross Creek in Lee’s Summit, MO. A Celebration of life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, March 21st at United Methodist Church of the Resurrection Blue Springs, 601 NE Jefferson St, Blue Springs, MO 64014. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the City Union Mission.

Judy was born on June 6, 1940, in Fillmore, Missouri, to Maurice and Cleytus Lemmon. She graduated from Fillmore High School in 1958 and married John E. Davis on April 9, 1959. Their marriage stood as a beautiful model of strength, character, and quiet love for their family and all who knew them.

Judy was the heart of her family—the true matriarch. She poured her whole heart into caring for those she loved: her parents, husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. A quiet artist, she explored many creative outlets throughout her life, including sewing, painting, weaving, quilting, and crochet.

She cherished each day God gave her and found deep peace in listening to old hymns, Bible verses, and simply being close to her family.

Judy is survived by her daughters, Deborah Derry, Teresa (Dale) Smith, and Melanie (Mike) Kidder; her grandchildren, Dustin Ware, Cassie (Daniel) Carlisle, John Noah (Madyson) Paul, Kyle and Sam Kidder, Andrew Smith; and her great-grandchildren, Siddalee Ware, McKynzie Caton, Toby Carlisle, Rhyland and Noah Paul. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, her parents, Maurice and Cleytus Lemmon, and her granddaughter, Jennifer Ware.
