Kathy Ku’u-lei Hustace Daleo, 54, passed unexpectedly on Friday, July 19, 2019 at her home in Independence, Missouri. No services are planned. Donations helping to advance research and raise awareness of Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy can be made to: https://www.lgmd2ifund.org/our-partners/funding
Kathy was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, the daughter of Elia (Jack) Kapuneia Robinson Hustace and Judith (Binns) Hustace. She lived in Independence and graduated from William Chrisman High School in Independence, MO. She worked as a closer in the mortgage lending industry for most of her career until her disability obliged her to retire early. Kathy had a big heart and loved her family dearly. She never turned a blind eye to anyone or anything in need; any stray animal seen by Kathy was no longer stray.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Katelyn Daleo (Kevin) of Leawood, KS, her brother, David Hustace (Susan) of Pittsboro, NC; her maternal aunt, Janet Stevens of Independence, MO; her paternal aunt, Ginger-Lei Kauwalu of Haleiwa, Hawaii; her nephew, Jason Hart (Melissa) of Reseda, CA; her niece, Jessica Hustace (Jamie) of Apex, NC; and her three cherished young grandchildren, Blake and Brooke Bridgewater and Major Thom of Leawood, KS. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Judy Hustace.
