Lonnie W. O’Donnell


Lonnie Wayne O’Donnell, 72, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3rd at Royer Funeral Home in Oak Grove. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Lung Association.

Lonnie was born on May 30, 1951, in Lexington, Missouri, the son of Claude and Mildred (Appleby) O’Donnell. He loved the outdoors, spending time at the lake, and boating. Lonnie was a jokester, and enjoyed cars and fixing them up. He also loved his tractors. Lonnie loved spending time with his family and he was extremely proud of his grandchildren.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sandy O’Donnell; grandson, Taylor Johnson; and sister, Joyce Ford.

His survivors include his daughter, Kendra Johnson (Chris) of Oak Grove, MO; son, Eric O’Donnell (Danielle) of Blue Springs, MO; grandchildren: Alex Johnson (Jenna Nuckolls), Sydney Johnson (Christian Zimmerschied), and Peyton O’Donnell (Kailyn); sister, Betty Lewis of Lee’s Summit, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

  1. Graduated high school with Lonnie, worked with Lonnie, couldn’t have asked for a better friend, classmate or co-worker. Lifting the family up in prayers. Rest in peace Lonnie.
