
Patrick Steven Wiggins, departed this life on April 19, 2026, at the age of 73 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Patrick’s life on Saturday, May 9th, at 12:00 PM. Services will be held at: East Side Baptist Church, 19901 MO-78, Independence, MO 64057.
Patrick was born June 19, 1952 in Kansas City, Kansas to Leota Glendening and Wallace Lafe Wiggins. A veteran of the United States Army, Patrick proudly served his country with stations at Fort Polk, Fort Riley, and Mainz, Germany. Following his military service, he began a long and industrious career at General Motors, where he remained a steadfast employee for 44 years.
Beyond his professional life, Patrick was a man of many passions. He had a profound love for the open road, enjoying his Harley Davidson motorcycle and his annual trips to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. He possessed a mechanical mind and a steady hand, most notably evidenced by his 1955 Chevy Bel Air, which he restored himself from the ground up.
Patrick will be remembered as witty, friendly, and deeply loving. You would often find him engaging in playful banter with his loved ones, a testament to the close bonds he formed throughout his life.
Patrick was preceded in death by his father, Wallace Lafe Wiggins; his mother, Leota Glendening; his brothers, Larry Hoover and Jim Wiggins; and his step-son, Michael Garcia.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and family, survived by his devoted wife, Mona Lisa Wiggins; his brothers, Bill (Pat) Hoover, Wally (Kathy) Wiggins, and Paul (Joyce) Wiggins; his son, Mark (Cherie) Wiggins, step-son, Daniel Garcia; and daughter-in-law, Kimberly (Richard) Brand. His grandchildren, Kara Wiggins, Nicole (Blake Flanagan) Wiggins, Victoria (Derek) McCoart, Erica (Trevor) Radley, Johnathan Garcia, and Christian Garcia; as well as his 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
