Rainbow was born on April 23, 1962, in Kansas City, KS, the son of Robert L Hightower and Barbara Jean Middleton. He graduated from Oak Grove High School in 1980 and began working in the underground utility field shortly after graduation. He established his own company, Rainbow Construction Underground Utilities in 1999. He was an avid music lover and especially liked the Cars, Gary Allan and could often be heard singing an Elvis rendition of Happy Birthday. One of his greatest joys was coaching his sons in little league sports. He coached baseball and basketball for many years in the Oak Grove community. He not only loved coaching but also loved competing. He played baseball, slow pitch softball and enjoyed competing in the Royals Dream Week experience. He was a Royals season ticket holder for many years. In his later years he took on the role of Papa Bo to his grandsons. That role was one he loved very much.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister and brother-in-law, Karon and Billie Cole.
Rainbow is survived by his sons, Eric Hightower (wife Nicole) of Pleasant Hill, MO, and Adam Hightower (wife Daryle) of Quincy, IL; his brother, Jake (wife Joy) of Independence, MO; 6 grandsons, Weston, Colton, Paxton, Leo, Brooks, and Hampton; his nieces and nephews; and many more family and friends.
