
Robert “Bob” Leon Miller, 70, of Grain Valley, MO passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022. Per his wishes, a Private Service with his immediate family will be held.
Bob was born on August 8th, 1952, in Independence, MO. The Son of Carl Leon Miller and Billie Louise (Forkner) Miller. He graduated in 1970 from Grain Valley High School. Bob spent the entirety of his working career in the fire service, which began as a volunteer in high school. In 1989 he joined Central Jackson County Fire Protection District where he was instrumental in developing CJC into a full-time, paid department along with the assumption of Emergency Medical services. After serving the district and its citizens for 21 years, Bob retired at the rank of Deputy Chief. In retirement, Bob enjoyed camping, traveling, and watching his grandchildren play sports. He loved going on road trips and visiting his grandchildren in Las Vegas.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents along with his brother Billy C. Miller all of Oswego, KS. Surviving his passing are his son, Billy Miller of Grain Valley, MO; daughter Brandie (Ray) Collins of Blue Springs, MO; son Charlie (Gabrielle) Miller of Las Vegas, NV. He leaves behind 12 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren and 4 Adopted Grandchildren.
