Ronald R. Jester of Odessa, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at home. Services will be held on Tuesday, July 7th at Royer Funeral Home in Oak Grove, MO, with visitation from 11am-12pm and the funeral at 12pm, followed by graveside services in Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, 7285 W. 132nd Street, Overland Park, KS 66213.
Ron was born September 8, 1950, in Lee’s Summit, MO, to James and Emma Jester. He was a retired tractor mechanic, who then took up welding to make custom smokers. As Ron would say – I’m a jack of all trades and master of none who loved a good challenge. He liked to fish, hunt, and tend to his animals and garden. Ron was a caring, selfless jokester who liked to make people laugh. He loved to host family gatherings and most of all, spend time with his boys.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Jimmy, Tom, Bob, Gary, and Rick; and his son Ronnie Rav.
His survivors who will all miss him greatly include his son Randy Jester; his granddaughter Amanda; six great-grandchildren; six sisters: Barb Redman, Shirley Reitz, Carolyn Rothove, Deb Jester, Janice Jester, and Lisa Jester; several nieces and nephews; and Vicki McCulloch.
