Sandra L. Meinershagen


Sandra Lea Meinershagen, 70, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 1, 2019 at St. Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit, MO.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 6th at First United Methodist Church, 301 SW Woods Chapel Road, Blue Springs.  The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church.  Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Concord Cemetery in Bates City, MO.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the church.

Sandra was born June 30, 1949, in Odessa, Missouri, the daughter of Lee Edward and Rebecca Dean (Murry) Bozarth.  She married Gary Meinershagen on December 22, 1973.  She was a school bus driver for the Blue Springs School District for 18 years, retiring in 2005.  Sandra was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Blue Springs where she was involved in the Hand Bell Choir and cooked for the United Methodist Men and for other special events.  She enjoyed ceramics, making crafts, cross stitching, quilting, and going to the movies with her brother, Terry.  She loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Lee, and granddaughter, Harper Meinershagen.

Her survivors include her husband, Gary Meinershagen of the home; two daughters: Kristina Meinershagen of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Heather Wilkerson (James) of Independence, MO; her mother, Rebecca Bozarth Beugin of Oak Grove, MO; brother, Terry Bozarth (Kathy) of Blue Springs; sister, Sheryl Baker (Mike) of Orange Park, FL; her mother-in-law, Viola Merinershagen of Grain Valley, MO; and two grandchildren: Bryson Wilkerson and Landreigh Wimmer.

  1. Will miss Sandra. We were friends, she was a special person. I am sorry I couldn’t attend Sandra’s services – my health is not good. But my prayers are with you all. I was her ceramic teacher, we shared a lot of good times. She will be missed. BILL Fitzgerel
