Teagan Alivia Leonard, of Grain Valley, Missouri, left us on May 13, 2026, at the age of 19.
From the moment God chose us to be her parents, Teagan was the answer to a lifelong hope. She completed us. She made everything feel right.
Teagan was smart, witty, kind, and quietly observant — the kind of person who took her time deciding where to place her heart and loved fiercely once she did. She was compassionate in a way you could feel in a room. Her family was wrapped around her finger, and she knew it. She loved deeply and was deeply loved in return. She shared a special bond with her brothers, Gavin and Gage, that had only been growing stronger with time; a quiet closeness with her mother that ran through years of ordinary days; and in Aishwarya (Ash) Aryal, Gavin’s girlfriend, the sister she had always wanted.
She was a young woman of remarkable drive. By nineteen, she had already earned both her CNA and her Esthetician licenses and was studying to become a nurse. Anything she set her mind to, she did. There was never a doubt. Teagan loved trying new things — especially traveling and new foods — and she loved experiencing them with the people she loved. She was forever bringing home some new snack or drink she’d discovered, insisting everyone try it with her, her dad most of all. Joy, for Teagan, was never something to keep for herself. It was something to share. She adored her cats — especially Moose, whom she would scoop up and pat-pat-pat with the most tender baby talk, loving him so much she could hardly stand it. That was Teagan: full of soft, private joys and a deep tenderness for the ones who were hers.
Teagan is survived by her parents, Vincent and Shauna Leonard; her brothers, Gavin and Gage Leonard; Gavin’s girlfriend, Aishwarya (Ash) Aryal, the sister of her heart; her grandmothers, Janice Smith and Patricia Leonard; and a circle of family and friends who were lucky enough to be chosen by her. She is also lovingly remembered by her boyfriend, Eli Hernandez, who held a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Garry Smith and Roger Leonard, who we trust were waiting to greet her.
A visitation will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, May 29, 2026, at Royer Funeral Home in Grain Valley, Missouri. A Celebration of Teagan’s Life will be held at 5:00 p.m.
We will love her, and miss her, every day of our lives.
